HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 2011-029 CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS RESOLUTION NO. 2011- 09,(j A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS, AWARDING A BID AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH GARDNER TELECOMMUNICATIONS, INC. TO INSTALL FIBER OPTICS BETWEEN PAIGE ROAD, FIRE STATION #2, AND THE AQUATIC CENTER; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of The Colony has determined that it is in the best interest of the city to award a bid and enter into a contract with Gardner Telecommunications, Inc. to install fiber optics between Paige Road, Fire Station #2 and the Aquatic Center. WHEREAS, the City of The Colony is agreeing to pay the sum not to exceed Fifty Four Thousand Six Hundred Ninety Four Dollars and Zero Cents ($54,694.00) for such contract. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS THAT: Section 1. That this proposal, having been reviewed by the City Council of the City of The Colony, Texas, and found to be acceptable and in the best interest of the city and its citizens, be, and the same is hereby, in all things approved in the amount not to exceed Fifty Four Thousand Six Hundred Ninety Four Dollars and Zero Cents ($54,694.00) and the City Manager is hereby authorized to contract with Gardner Telecommunication, Inc. to install fiber optics between Paige Road, Fire Station #2 and Aquatic Center on behalf of the city of The Colony, Texas, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit "A". Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its adoption and it is so resolved.
