Expenditures for 2010 are $80,044.99. The maintenance crew continues to do maintenance on the trees
throughout the city so we will be able to meet our goals, and we don't anticipate anyproblems in meeting our
goals in 2011. There is a lot of new landscaping that will be planted by the end of December.
4. DISCUSSION OF REGIONAL TREE PLANTING INITIATIVE AND SET A MINIMUM FOR THE
NUMBER OF TREES TO BE PLANTED IN THE CITY IN THE NEXT 10 YEARS -
This idea is from a member of the Richardson City Council. They want to plant 50, 000 trees in Richardson
over the next 10 years. Trees planted by the city, residents and businesses will be counted towards their goal.
They want to make this the biggest urban forest initiative in the country and they are recruiting other cities to
help accomplish that goal. They have contacted mayors of the 15 most populated cities in North Texas and
are asking them to adopt a "Tree Planting Initiative "for their cities. There is a meeting in January to
discuss the Tree Planting Initiative; Pam will attend and report back to the board.
There being no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
