CITY OF THE COLONY
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
NOVEMBER 23, 2010
After determining that a quorum was present, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City
of The Colony, Texas convened into regular session which was held on Tuesday, November 23,
2010 at 6:30 PM in the City Council Chambers located in City Hall, 6800 Main Street, The
Colony, Texas, at which time the following items were addressed:
Board Members Present: Brian Wade, Chairman; Deville Hubbard; Debbie Morrison and Karen
Hames.
Board Member Absent: David Terre, Vice-Chairman; Eddie McCormick and Helene Parker.
Staff Present: Brooks Wilson, Senior Planner; Brant Shallenburger, Construction
Communication Facilitator/Legal Coordinator; Gordon Scruggs, Director of Engineering; Jimmy
Schnurr, City Attorney; and Felicia Koppang, Development Services Coordinator.
1.0 CALL REGULAR SESSION TO ORDER
Chairman Wade called the meeting to order at 6:37 PM.
1.1 Citizen Input
No citizen input was received.
2.0 CONSENT AGENDA
2.1 Consider approval of the minutes of the October 12, 2010 Regular Session.
Commissioner Hames requested Item 2.1 to be pulled. She stated that Commissioner Helene
Parker was not noted as being present or absent for the meeting.
It was moved by Commissioner Hubbard to approve Item 2.1 with the requested change
to include Commissioner Parker as being present at the meeting, seconded by
Commissioner Hames, and unanimously carried (4-0).

(PPI0-0002, Old American Golf Clubhouse) Consider approval of a preliminary plat of
Lot 1, Block A of the Old American Golf Clubhouse Addition being a 1.11-acre tract
out of the T.D. Luckett Survey, Abstract No 752, and the S. Payton Survey, Abstract
No. 1009 located on the eastern side of Lebanon Road just north of the existing Tribute
Golf Course.

(FP10-0004, Old American Golf Clubhouse) Consider approval of a final plat of Lot 1,
Block A of the Old American Golf Clubhouse Addition being a 1.11-acre tract out of
the T.D. Luckett Survey, Abstract No 752, and the S. Payton Survey, Abstract No.
1009 located on the eastern side of Lebanon Road just north of the existing Tribute
Golf Course.
It was moved by Commissioner Hames to approve Items 2.2 and 2.3 as presented,
seconded by Commissioner Morrison, and unanimously carried (4-0).

2.4 (RPIO-0003 Garza-Little Elm Estates) Consider approval of a replat for Lot 17R,
Block 6 of the Garza-Little Elm Estates being a replat of a portion of Lots 12, 13, 14,
15, Block 6, Garza-Little Elm Estates, Volume 2, Page 80, P.R.D.C.T. and a portion of
Lot 17R, Block 6 of Garza-Little Elm Estates, Cabinet X, Page 144, P.R.D.C.T.,
located adjacent to 7525 Main Street.
The item was pulled from the agenda.

DISCUSSION ITEM
Update of Development Code focusing on the Sign Ordinance and Accessory
Structures
Mrs. Wilson spoke about the revisions to the Sign Ordinance and Accessory Structures that will
be presented to the Commissioners within the next few Planning and Zoning Commission
meetings.
Several questions were asked by the Commissioners.
There being no further questions or discussion, Chairman Wade adjourned the meeting at 7:53
