HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 09-026 CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS RESOLUTION NO. 09-026 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS APPOINTING ELECTION OFFICIALS FOR A MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD MAY 9, 2009; ESTABLISHING PAY RATES FOR ELECTION WORKERS; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on February 2, 2009 the City Council of the City of The Colony ordered an election be held on May 9, 2009 for the purpose of electing a Mayor and two At-Large Council Members, Place 1 and Place 2; and WHEREAS, the polling locations were designated in said election order; and WHEREAS, at the time of ordering the election the election judges and alternate election judges were yet to be named. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS: Section 1. That the election officers for said county precincts shall be as follows: DENTON COUNTY ELECTION PRECINCTS 201, 202, 219, and 221 Polling Place- Camey Elementary 4949 Arbor Glen Presiding Judge Alternate Judge Harry Peterson Roy Winegar 5224 Young Dr. 5500 Slay DENTON COUNTY ELECTION PRECINCTS 109 and 222• Polling Place Peters Colony Elementary 5101 Nash Dr. Presiding Judge Alternate Judge Rolando Reyes David Rains 4017 Standridge Dr. 5452 Buckskin Dr. DENTON COUNTY ELECTION PRECINCTS 231,232, and 233• Polling Place - Denton County Government Center 6301 Main St. Presiding Judge Alternate Judge Peggy Chenault Ruth Zizelmann 3937 Harbor Dr. 6629 Wilshire Ln. EARLY BALLOT BOARD PRESIDING JUDGE Rolando Reyes 4017 Standridge Dr. The Presiding Judge shall appoint not less than two (2) nor more than five (5) qualified election clerks to serve and assist in the conduct of the election, providing that if the Presiding Judge named above actually serves as expected, the Alternate Presiding Judge shall be one of such clerks. By passing this Resolution, the City Council of said City approves and concurs in the appointment of the aforesaid election officers. Section 2. That the judges shall be compensated at a rate often dollars ($10.00) per hour and clerks shall be compensated at the rate of eight dollars ($8.00) per hour. The judge who delivers the election returns and election supplies shall be paid an additional twenty-five dollars ($25.00). Section 3. That the City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to publish and/or post, in the time and manner prescribed by law, all notices required to be so published and/or posted in connection with the conduct of this election.
