'< ExhIbiT A- TURNER PARK ELECTRICAL IMPROVEMENTS For the past several years, the field lighting system at Turner Soccer Complex has been plagued with electrical problems. The park is located in a flood plain and goes underwater during periods of heavy rain. The underground conduit containing wire from the switchgear to the light poles fills with water via buried junction boxes. This, after time, has caused the insulation on the wire to deteriorate and, in many cases, has allowed the wire to fuse together and short out. There are also three old wooden poles remaining that have not been replaced and a fourth pole needs to be added at the northeast field to improve lighting on that field. The wooden equipment rack at the north end of the complex holding the incoming power and load center is deteriorating also from high water and wet conditions. This project addresses all of the issues described above. The scope of work consists of: 1. Installation of new underground including conduit and wiring from existing switchgear to all new and existing light poles. 2. Pull new conductors from the existing contactors at the switchgear to existing ballast containers located approximately ten feet above ground level on the light poles without splice to alleviate problems that occur over time when connections are subjected to flood or ground water. 3. Remove remaining three wood poles and replace with round, tapered, galvanized steel poles measuring 60' above ground. 4. Improve lighting at the NE soccer field by relocating the existing pole at mid field on the east side and adding a second 60' galvanized steel pole, as described in #3 above, with ten fixtures to the east side of the field to accomplish a typical four pole layout. 5. Improve the structure of the equipment rack serving the lighting on the North end of the complex by replacing the deteriorating wood pole rack with a square tube metal rack at a height that places it above flood water levels. Groves Electrical has agreed to perform this work at a cost of $63,330.
