CITY OF THE COLONY
September 23,2008
A REGULAR SESSION of the Cultural Arts Board of the City of The Colony was called
to order by Chair Lux at 7:06 pm

1. Citizen Input
Christi Martin of 5604 Longhorn Drive announced to the board that the
Kaleidascape pieces are in production.
Victoria Irvine of Garland and Donna Arnold of 4328 N. Colony Boulevard
inquired about the scheduling process for the Lakeside Arts Center (LAC) and
expressed their concerns about the door of the LAC being left unlocked.
2. Minutes
Consideration of approval of the minutes of the Cultural Arts Board meeting held
August 14,2008.
Minutes approved as presented.
3. Update on window replacement at Lakeside Arts Center
The windows were replaced and then broken again. The board discussed ways to
prevent this from happening. Suggestions included bars, replacing windows with
plexiglass and posting a sign that suggested the property is under video
surveillance. The board voted unanimously to inquire further on what could be
done.

4. Discussion and consideration of status of lighting equipment at the Lakeside Arts
Center.
Lists of the equipment at LCT were submitted by the Lakeside Arts Foundation
(LAF) and the Lakeside Community Theater (LCT). Vice-Chair Marshall
requested that LAF submit a list of equipment that is specifically owned by LAF.
5. Update on and consideration of details for the CAB sponsored photography
contest for Pirate Days event,
Member Shailer will have the trophies and ribbons made. Liaison Margolis will
design a certificate that Vice-Chair Marshall will have printed.
Member Martin will make corrections to the entry form.
The judges have been arranged.
6. Discussion and consideration of further amendments to the Lakeside Arts Center
Use Policy, per City Council recommendations and to direct the amended
document to City Council for approval.
The City Council requested that the American Legion group be added as a group
approved for continual use. The change was approved with a majority vote.
The meeting adjourned at 8:25 pm
