HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 08-116 CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS RESOLUTION NO. 08-116 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS, AWARDING THE BID AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF FIVE (5) IBM BLADE SERVERS, THREE (3) VMW ARE ENTERPRISE SOFTWARE, AND TWO (2) CISCO NETWORK SWITCHES TO VARIOUS LOW BIDDING VENDORS AS SPECIFIED IN THE PRICE COMPARISON CHART, WHICH IS A TT ACHED HERETO AND INCORPORA TED HEREIN AS EXHIBIT "A"; FUNDING FOR THE PURCHASE IS INCLUDED IN THE 2008 AND 2009 DEBT ISSUANCES FUND; AND PROVIDNG AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the purchase of these items will improve service to various city facilities, such as City Hall, the Parks and Recreation Center, and the Community Center; and WHEREAS, requests for bids were advertised and opened on November 18, 2008; and WHEREAS, the 2008 and 2009 debt issuances fund contains funding for the purchase of the items referenced above. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS THAT: Section 1. The bid will be awarded as reflected in the Price Comparison Chart, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit "A". Section 2. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to issue appropriate purchase order(s) to purchase the items in the unit amounts as indicated on said Exhibit "A". Section 3. passage.
