HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 08-064 CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS RESOLUTION NO. 08-064 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS, AWARDING A BID AND APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF AN AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF THE COLONY AND JIM BOWMAN CONSTRUCTION FOR THE REMOVAL, REFURBISHMENT AND RELOCATION OF A HISTORIC BRIDGE, WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AND INCORPORATED HEREIN AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the City and Contractor have entered into an Agreement such that the Contractor is to provide for the removal, refurshishment, and restoration of a historic bridge; and WHEREAS, the City has determined that it is in the best interest of the City to enter into an Agreement with Jim Bowman Construction, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference as Exhibit "A", under the terms and conditions provided therein; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS, THAT: Section 1. The City Council awards a bid and approves the Agreement, as identified in Exhibit "A", with Jim Bowman Construction for the removal, refurbishment, and restoration of the historic bridge in the amount of $166,300 as the base amount, plus a $16,630 contingency amount for a total not to exceed $182,930. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the Agreement on behalf ofthe City of The Colony, Texas. Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage. PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of The Colony, Texas, this 7th day of Julv. 2008.
