MINUTES OF THE CULTURAL ARTS BOARD
OF THE
CITY OF THE COLONY
April 21, 2007
A REGULAR SESSION of the Cultural Arts Board of the City of The Colony was called
to order by Vice-chair Lux at 9: 1 0 a.m.

1. Citizen Input
This time is set-aside for citizens to address the Cultural Arts Board regarding
items that are not posted on the regular agenda. Those persons wishing to address
the Board must sign in on the Citizen's Input form prior to the start of the meeting.
Christi Martin, 5604 Longhorn Drive, spoke to the board about the Lakeside Arts
Center, and asked the board to consider maintenance and cleaning when
discussing the fee schedule.
Ms. Martin also announced that the Lakeside Arts Foundation would be hiring a
rock band to play at the Lakeside Arts Center for the city's trail opening on june
2,2007. She inquired about HOT tax funds for this event.
2. Minutes
Consideration of approval of the minutes of the Cultural Arts Board meeting held
March 10t\ 2007.
The minutes were approved as presented.
3. Discussion of possible upcoming arts events
April 21, 2007, City HaIl, 9:10am
Christi Martin announced that the Lakeside Community Theater si putting on a
production of a play called "I Hate Hamlet, May 18th and 19th , 24th and 25th. The
play is not appropriate for children.
Member Shailer announced that there is a large dance event in Dallas, March 15th_
18th at Samuel Park - "Dance for the Planet".
4. Discussion and consideration of involvement with Dancers Against Cancer
Member Shailer discussed doing an event at The Colony High School, possibly
the third weekend in July, 2007.
5. Discussion of actions to take toward ballet event, per City Council request.

6. Discussion and consideration of rate structure for Cultural Arts Center fees and
deposits.
