RESOLUTION NO. 06-12!ii
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS,
AUTHORIZING THE CONTINUANCE OF A TEMPORARY FUEL
SURCHARGE BY WASTE MANAGEMENT; THAT THE
SURCHARGE WAS APPROVED BY CITY COUNCIL ON APRIL
4, 2005 EXPIRING ON OCTOBER 31, 2005; THAT A SIX MONTH
CONTINUANCE OF THE FUEL SURCHARGE WAS APPROVED
THROUGH APRIL 31, 2006; THAT THE SECOND
CONTINUANCE OF THE FUEL SURCHARGE WAS APPROVED
THROUGH OCTOBER 31, 2006; THAT A THIRD
CONITUNUANCE OF THE FUEL SURCHARGE IS APPROVED
THROUGH APRIL 31, 2007 PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of The Colony, Texas approved a
temporary fuel surcharge for Waste Management on April 4, 2005 as a Contract
Amendment.
Section 2. That the Contract Amendment, a copy of which is attached hereto and
incorporated herein, expires on October 31, 2005 unless further Council action is taken.
Section 3. That the City Council approved Resolution 05-97 authorizing the
continuance of the temporary fuel surcharge to expire on April 31, 2006.
Section 4. That the City Council approved Resolution 06-027 authorizing the
continuance of the temporary fuel surcharge to expire on October 31, 2006.
Section 5. That the City Council hereby approves the third continuance of the
temporary fuel surcharge as stated in the Contract Amendment until April 31, 2007.

PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City- f The Colony,
Texas, this 6th day of November, 2006.

CONTRACTADMENDMENT
The Colony's "Commercial & Industrial Collection, Transport, Disposal, and
Residential and Multi~FantiJy RecYcling Agreement" beginning on October 1,2003
and ending on June 1,2007, between the City of The Colony and Waste Management
Inc. will be amended as follows:
Appen dix A. will be amended 10 incOlpOrale a temporary rate increase of six (6) cents
per month per resident for residential recycling.
Appendix A. will also be amended to incOlporate a temporary rate increase of one (1)
percent across the board for Commercial Solid Waste services in The Colony.
Appendix A is included with this Contract Amendment.
Add Section 1.4 to the original Contract.
1.4 The rate increase implemented on May 1, 2005 for residential
recycling and commercial solid waste will expire on October 31,2005
unless further action is taken by City Council.
