A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY,
TEXAS, AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING THE PAYMENT TO THE CITY OF
CARROLL TON PURSUANT TO AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT IN AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $2,883,907.00 AND A CONTINGENCY IN AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $141,093.00 FOR THE COLONY'S PORTION OF
THE COST FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SEGMENT 1 OF THE WATER
TRANSMISSION LINE TO THE SOUTHERN PUMP STATION FOR MUNICIPAL
WATER SYSTEM; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City of The Colony ("City") joined with the cities of Carrollton and Lewisville to
construct a new water transmission line from Dallas Water Utilities Elm Fork Treatment Plant; and
WHEREAS, said transmission line is to provide additional water supply to the city of The Colony
upon construction of the Southern Pump Station; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the costs and hereby approves payment of the same in
an amount not to exceed $2,883,907.00 and a contingency in an amount not to exceed $141,093.00 for The
Colony's portion of the cost construction of Segment I of the water transmission line to the Southern Pump
Station for municipal water system.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE
COLONY, TEXAS THAT:
Section I. The City Council hereby authorizes and approves payment to the City of Carrollton
pursuant to an Interlocal Agreement in an amount not to exceed two million, eight hundred eighty-three
thousand nine hundred and seven dollars ($2,883,907.00) and a contingency in an amount not to exceed One
hundred forty-one thousand and ninety three dollars ($141,093.00) for The Colony's portion of the cost
construction of Segment I of the water transmission line to the Southern Pump Station for municipal water
system.
Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately from and after its passage, as the
law and charter in such cases provides.
PASSED, APPROVED and EFFECTIVE this 6th day of November, 2006.
