Work Session
The question was asked by a member of bhe association who was
going to determine condition of fields for use. Mr. Herold
said he hopes that the different sports associations will all
work together in this and know when not to use the fields. Each
group will have to help with enforcing field regulation on
the use and care of the fields when wet. Also will have to help
with the parking. Keith Lenz said that the soccer association
had inserted in their rule books parking rules and field use and
care. He said that each team manager was responsible for seeing
that these rules were enforced. It was suggested that perhaps
the other associations also make a similiar addtion to their
rule books on parking and care of fields.
Someone asked how many cars could park in the parking lot's
set aside on these fields. Mr. Herold said he thought easily
45 to 90 cars on most of the lots.
Chairman Frohardt had a request from Board Member Haas to put
before the athletic Associations the possibility of permanent
Sports Association made up of citizens of our cornmunity to be
able to go before city council to present future needs for our
parks and sports fields. when needed. One member said that
he felt citizen involvement was needed, and this would be a good
way of getting it.' Chairman Frohardt also said he would like for
the Sports Associations to be thinking of any particular needs
we may foresee for future fields and sports..
A development of practice fields on the easements was discussed
after Keith Lenz asked if it were possible to use the easements
for practice fields..Parking was also discus~ed in relation to
these areas. ..Mr. Herold said that a Park and Recreation Ordinace
would soon be coming and that an ordinance would be included on
the parking facilities also..
