A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS APPOINTING ELECTION OFFICIALS FOR A MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD MAY 13, 2006; ESTABLISHING PAY RATES FOR ELECTION WORKERS; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on February 6, 2006 the City Council of the City of The Colony ordered an election be held on May 13, 2006 for the purpose of electing a Mayor and two At-Large Council Members, Place I and Place 2; and WHEREAS, the polling locations were designated in said election order; and WHEREAS, at the time of ordering the election the election judges and alternate election judges were yet to be named. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS: Section 1. follows: That the election officers for said county precincts shall be as DENTON COUNTY ELECTION PRECINCTS 201. 202. 219. and 221 Polling Place- Carney Elementary 4949 Arbor Glen Presiding Judge Melinda Johnson 5428 Big River Alternate Judge Holly Rademaker 5625 Trego DENTON COUNTY ELECTION PRECINCTS 109 and 222; Polling Place Peters Colony Elementary 5101 Nash Dr. Presiding Judge Valene Hill 5045 Brandenburg Alternate Judge (to be determined) DENTON COUNTY ELECTION PRECINCTS 231.232. and 233; Polling Place - Lakeside Arts Center 6301B Main St. K:\DOC\ELECTION\2006 Election\Resolution Appointing Judges.doc Presiding Judge Pam Sewell 4908 North Colony Blvd. Alternate Judge Shawna Sewell 4908 North Colony Blvd. EARL Y BALLOT BOARD PRESIDING JUDGE Regina Carpenter 4277 Keys The Presiding Judge shall appoint not less than two (2) nor more than five (5) qualified election clerks to serve and assist in the conduct of the election, providing that if the Presiding Judge named above actually serves as expected, the Alternate Presiding Judge shall be one of such clerks. By passing this Resolution, the City Council of said City approves and concurs in the appointment of the aforesaid election officers. Section 2. That the judges shall be compensated at a rate of ten dollars ($10.00) per hour and clerks shall be compensated at the rate of eight dollars ($8.00) per hour. The judge who delivers the election returns and election supplies shall be paid an additional twenty-five dollars ($25.00). Section 3. That the City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to publish and/or post, in the time and manner prescribed by law, all notices required to be so published and/or posted in connection with the conduct of this election.
