RESOLUTION NO. 06- 0 J..;}....
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS APPOINTING
ELECTION OFFICIALS FOR A MUNICIPAL
ELECTION HELD MAY 13, 2006; ESTABLISHING
PAY RATES FOR ELECTION WORKERS;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on February 6, 2006 the City Council of the City of The Colony
ordered an election be held on May 13, 2006 for the purpose of electing a Mayor and two
At-Large Council Members, Place I and Place 2; and
WHEREAS, the polling locations were designated in said election order; and
WHEREAS, at the time of ordering the election the election judges and alternate
election judges were yet to be named.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS:
Section 1.

The Presiding Judge shall appoint not less than two (2) nor more than five (5)
qualified election clerks to serve and assist in the conduct of the election, providing that if
the Presiding Judge named above actually serves as expected, the Alternate Presiding
Judge shall be one of such clerks.
By passing this Resolution, the City Council of said City approves and concurs in the
appointment of the aforesaid election officers.
Section 2. That the judges shall be compensated at a rate of ten dollars ($10.00)
per hour and clerks shall be compensated at the rate of eight dollars ($8.00) per hour.
The judge who delivers the election returns and election supplies shall be paid an
additional twenty-five dollars ($25.00).
Section 3. That the City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to publish
and/or post, in the time and manner prescribed by law, all notices required to be so
published and/or posted in connection with the conduct of this election.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE
COLONY, TEXAS TO BE EFFECTIVE this 20th day of March, 2006.
