A SPECIAL SESSION of the Library Board of the City of The Colony
Texas, was called to order by Chair Wood at 7:01 p.m.

1. RECEIVE PRESENTATIONS REGARDING FUTURE GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
OF THE CITY.
Economic Development Coordinator Lori Harlan and City Planner Sam
Chavez provided the Board members with their insights into the
future development of The Colony.
In addition to information regarding type and location of
anticipated growth, zoning and land use plans were discussed.
Impacts of the growth on the usage and development of public
library services were discussed.
The possibility of a new library site was discussed; no property
is currently designated for this purpose. The only piece of city-
owned property is the site currently occupied by the driving
range. Although 25 acres in the Dal-Mac property is designated
for public facilities, the land is designated for a school, a
park, and includes Bridges Cemetery.
The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
