HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/13/95 Library Board MINUTES OF THE LIBRARY BOARD OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY APRIL 13, 1995 A SPECIAL SESSION of the Library Board of the City of The Colony Texas, was called to order by Chair Wood at 7:01 p.m. Present: Ken Wood Place 1 Diana Kruzich Place 2 Dorian Barton Place 4 Jayme Skelton Place 5 Wayne Bullard Alternate 2 Lori Harlan Economic Development Coordinator Sam Chavez City Planner Joan L. Sveinsson Library Director Valeta J. Eimer Secretary Absent: Patricia Riggs Alternate 1 James Althaus Place 3 (Business) 1. RECEIVE PRESENTATIONS REGARDING FUTURE GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE CITY. Economic Development Coordinator Lori Harlan and City Planner Sam Chavez provided the Board members with their insights into the future development of The Colony. In addition to information regarding type and location of anticipated growth, zoning and land use plans were discussed. Impacts of the growth on the usage and development of public library services were discussed. The possibility of a new library site was discussed; no property is currently designated for this purpose. The only piece of city- owned property is the site currently occupied by the driving range. Although 25 acres in the Dal-Mac property is designated for public facilities, the land is designated for a school, a park, and includes Bridges Cemetery.
