A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS, APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN CONTRACT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF THE COLONY AND WIGINTON HOOKER JEFFRY, P.c. FOR ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN OF A PROPOSED FIRE STATION IN AUSTIN RANCH, WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AND INCORPORATED HEREIN AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE CONTRACT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the City and Consultant have entered into an agreement such that the Consultant is to provide the following services: ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN OF A PROPOSED FIRE STATION IN AUSTIN RANCH; and WHEREAS, the City has determined that it is in the best interest of the City to enter into the Contract with WIGINTON HOOKER JEFFRY, P.C, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference as Exhibit "A," under the terms and conditions provided therein. WHEREAS, with this Contract the City of The Colony is agreeing to pay the sum not to exceed $ 39,100.00 for such work. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS THAT: Section 1. The Architectural Design Contract, which is attached and incorporated hereto as Exhibit "A", having been reviewed by the City Council of the City of The Colony, Texas, and found to be acceptable and in the best interest of the City and its citizens, be, and the same is hereby, in all things approved in the amount of $38,100.00 as the base amount. and $1.000.00 for Reimbursable Expenses amount for a total not to exceed $39,100.00, and the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the Agreement on behalf ofthe City of The Colony, Texas. Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its adoption and it is so resolved. Scope of Project The scope of work for this phase of the project consists of developing a Space Program, developing a Conceptual Design to include a Site Plan, Landscape Plan, Building Floor Plan, Building Elevations, and an opinion of probable cost for the construction of the proposed Facility. Basic Services We propose to perform the following services: · Conduct programming / needs assessment work sessions with Fire Department and/or City Staff to determine space needs, client goals and objectives. · Provide a preliminary draft of the program document for review and comment. Program document will include overall design objectives as well as detailed data sheets of each programmed space indicating square footage requirements, adjacencies, special needs, and space diagram. · Conduct an on site planning work session and review of draft program document with the user group(s). · Provide a proposed plan of the facility and site indicating the proposed location of building, drives, parking, and landscape areas. Provide preliminary elevation concepts. · Provide 3-D modeling of Design Concept · Provide Opinion of Probable Cost at the end of Programming and at the end of Conceptual Design. · Present Final Facilities Program and Final Conceptual Design. · Meet with the City and Austin Ranch Representatives as required. Compensation - Basic Services We proposed to provide the Basic Services outlined above for a fee of $38,100. Monthly progress payments for Basic Services shall be paid according to the following percentages. Programming: Building Planning & Conceptual Design Conceptual Landscape Design Cost estimate: Total Fee $12,000 $22,000 $2,600 $1,500 $38,100 Compensation - Additional Services Additional services of the Architect shall be billed at the following hourly rates: Principal Project Manager CADD Clerical $ 195.00 $ 170.00 $ 80.00 $ 60.00 If Additional work requires the services of Special Consultants (including cost estimator, landscape, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, and civil engineering), the Owner will be billed at a multiple of one and three-tenths (1.15 times the amounts billed to the Architect. Reimbursable Expenses We propose an allowance not to exceed $1,000.00, unless authorized, to cover eligible reimbursable expenses. Eligible reimbursable expenses shall include: · Expense of transportation in connection with the Project. · Fees paid for securing approval of authorities having jurisdiction over the Project. · Expense of reproduction, delivery of Drawings and other documents. Page 2 of 3 Schedule We propose the following schedule of Services. These numbers are work days (Monday through Friday) and do not include owner review time.
