RESOLUTION NO. 05-37 CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS DESIGNATING POLLING LOCATIONS; APPOINTING ELECTION OFFICIALS FOR A MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD MAY 7, 2005; ESTABLISHING PAY RATES FOR ELECTION WORKERS; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on February 7, 2005 the City Council of the City of The Colony ordered an election be held on May 7, 2005 for the purpose of electing four Council Members for Single Member Districts 3, 4,5, and 6; and WHEREAS, at the time of ordering the election, the polling locations and election judges and alternate election judges had not been yet established; and WHEREAS, upon the expiration of filing for a place on the ballot, and upon expiration of the time allowed for write-in candidates to declare candidacy only a single candidate filed for Single Member Districts 4 and 5; and WHEREAS, the City Secretary has certified that the candidates for Place 4 and Place 5 are unopposed resulting in those election being cancelled; and WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to have a single polling location for all voters on May 7,2005; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS: Section 1. That the election precincts, voting locations and election officers shall be as follows: DENTON COUNTY ELECTION PRECINCTS 201, 202, 219, AND 221; and A PORTION OF PRECINCT 109 WHICH IS LOCATED IN PLACE 6 POLLING PLACE- Carney Elementary 4949 Arbor Glen The Colony, Texas PRESIDING JUDGE ALTERNATE JUDGE Regina Carpenter Melinda Johnson 4277 Keys 5428 Big River Drive , . EARL Y BALLOT BOARD PRESIDING JUDGE Regina Carpenter The Presiding Judge shall appoint not less than two (2) nor more than five (5) qualified election clerks to serve and assist in the conduct of the election, providing that if the Presiding Judge named above actually serves as expected, the Alternate Presiding Judge shall be one of such clerks. By passing this Resolution, the City Council of said City approves and concurs in the appointment of the aforesaid election officers. Section 2. That the judges shall be compensated at a rate of ten dollars ($10.00) per hour and clerks shall be compensated at the rate of eight dollars ($8.00) per hour. The judge who delivers the election returns and election supplies shall be paid an additional twenty-five dollars ($25.00). Section 3. That the City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to publish and/or post, in the time and manner prescribed by law, all notices required to be so published and/or posted in connection with the conduct of this election.
