HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 05-1590 CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS ORDINANCE NO. 05- I 59rp AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS AMENDING CHAPTER 9 FIRE PROTECTION A~D PREVENTION OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, ARTICLE IV. FEES, SECTION 9-51; REVISING THE AMBULANCE TRANSPORT FEES; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the City of The Colony wishes to amend the EMS transport fee rate; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS: Section 1. That Chapter 9 Fire Protection and Prevention of the Code of Ordinances shall be and is hereby amended in Sec. 9-51 Fees - Generally as follows: "This division shall determine that EMS will charge a basic fee for ambulance transportation of four hundred dollars ($400.00) for resident and five hundred ($500.00) for non- resident person per incident, plus a fee of seven dollars ($7.00) per mile from the incident location to the nearest medical facility that is able to care for the patient appropriately." Section 2. If any section or provision of this ordinance, or application of that section or provision to any person, firm, corporation, situation or circumstance is for any reason judged invalid, the adjudication shall not affect any other section or provision of this ordinance or the application of any other section or provision to any other person, firm, corporation, situation or circumstance, and the City Council declares that it would have adopted the valid portions of the Ordinance without the invalid parts and to this end the provisions ofthis ordinance shall remain in full force and effect.
