SCOPE OF SERVICES
TASK ORDER NO. 1
BASIC SERVICES: FNI shall render the following professional services in connection
with the development of this Task Order:
General
The City of the Colony (hereinafter "City") has an existing holding pond at the
wastewater treatment plant that is in need of repair. The 0.4 MG pond collects the
backwash wastewater from the filters, the decant liquid from the sludge drying beds and
excess sludge from the chemical clarifier via gravity piping systems. A 6" diameter
discharge pipe is utilized to drain the pond and return the sludge and water to the
headworks. Based on the drawings, the pond has bottom dimensions of 35' x 140' and is
not lined. The pond's side slopes have sloughed and are covered with weeds and trees
and sludge has accumulated at the discharge end and plugged the return line. The City
would like to have the existing pond cleaned out, the trees and vegetation removed, the
slopes and bottom of the pond reshaped and lined with concrete. This will allow the City
to wash the pond and keep the sludge from accumulating in the bottom of the pond and
plugging the return line.
