HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 02-1366 CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS ORDINANCE NO. 02- / AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH WESTERN ENTERPRISES, INC. FOR JULY 4TM FIREWORKS DISPLAY; ATTACHING THE APPROVED FORM OF CONTRACT AS EXHIBIT "A"; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager of the City of The Colony, Texas is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City a contract with Western Enterprises, Inc. for Juy 4th Fireworks Display. The approved form of contract is attached hereto as Exhibit "A", and made a part hereof for such purposes. SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage bythe City Council of the City of The Colony, Texas. Show Date: Thursday, July 4, 2002 at dark (approx. 9:15 pm, local time) 2. Rain Date: Saturday, July 6, 2002 at dark (approx. 9:15 pm, local time) 3. Location: 4300 Blair Oaks, The Colony, Texas 4. Show Budget: Not to exceed $25,000.00 5. Show Length: Show should be at least 18-22 minutes continuous duration including any adjustments for weather conditions. If the show is less than 18 minutes in duration, $1,000 per minute will be deducted from the final payment. 6. Shell Sizes: Shells may range from 3 to 12 inches in a variety of patterns. Due to the firing site, Iow level ground effects are not desired. 7. Show: MUST include a distinctive opening and grand finale. The show must also be choreographed to music. The City of The Colony shall have the opportunity to have input as to the selection of musical numbers selected for the show. A script of the choreography shall be furnished no later than 3 weeks prior to the event. 8. Bid: MUST include total cost, description of show, quantity of all sizes of shells being used and a breakdown of all shells being used in the opening and grand finale. Bidders are to furnish, on their own letterhead, the breakdown of all shells and a description of the quality of the product used. Shells bid should be identified by the country of their manufacture. This breakdown and description will be considered the bid form. 9. References: At least three (3) references, with contact person and phone numbers, must be submitted along with the bid for similar shows with similar budgets performed within the last three (3) years. 10. Company: Must be fully licensed and insured. A MINIMUM of $2,000,000 insurance will be required. Proof of both the insurance and license MUST be submitted with the bid. 11. Terms of Payment: Bidders must include their requirement for terms of payment. 12. Misc: Bidders shall describe any additional services provided with this bid. 13. Bids: Will be opened at 3:00 pm, Tuesday, April 2, 2002 and will be evaluated by the City of The Colony. Recommendations to City Council for contract approval will be made at the earliest possible date after the bid opening.
