HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 88ORDINANCE A •u AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TIIE COLONY, TEXAS, ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS, AND EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF' SAID CITY SO AS TO INCLUDE SUCH PROPERTY WITHIN SAID CITY LIMITS, AND GRANTING TO THE INHABITANTS OF SAID TERRITORY TIIE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF' OTHER CITIZENS; AND BINDING SAID INHABITANTS BY THE ACTS, ORDINANCES, RESOLUTIONS AND REGULATIONS OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS Whereas, a petition has been signed by a majority of the inhabitants qualified to vote for members of the State Legislature and who are citizens of the State of Texas and inhabitants of the following described property, to -wit: FIELD NOTES PROPERTY TO BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF THE COLONY Belnq 5 tracts of land situated in Denton County, Texas and being more particu- larly described as follows: TPACT A Being a tract of land situated in the D. Griffin, Jr. 145.5 acre tract; THENCE South, 89 degrees, 32 minutes, 44 seconds East, along the North boundary line of said tract,67,0.63 feet, to a steel pin for the most Northern Northwest corner of said 156.5 acre tract; THENCE South 00 degrees, 50 minutes, 49 seconds West, along the East boundary line of said 156.5 acre tract, and passing at 181.94 feet, an inner el corner on said tract continuing on said course, a total dis— tance of 264.28 feet; to a steel pin for the Southeast corner of tract herein described; THENCE West 666.7 feet, to a steel pin for the Southwest corner of tract herein described and being in the West boundary line of the past mentioned 156.5 acre tract; THENCE North along the West boundary line of said 156.5 acre tract, -69.6 feet, to point of beginning, and containing in all, 4.10 acres of land. M Be and the same is hereby annexed to The City of The Colony, Texas, Denton County— Texas and that the boundary limits of The City of The Colony, Texas be and the same are hereby extended to Include the above—described territory within the city limits of the City of The Colony, Texas, and the same shall hereafter be included within the territorial limits of such city, and the inhabitants thereof shall hereafter be entitled to all rights and privileges of other citizens of the City of The Colony, Texa3, and they shall be bound by the acts, ordinances, resolutions and regulations of said City. That this ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage and the publication of the caption as the law and charter in such cases provide.
