HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 45ORDINANCE NO. 45 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS, APPROVING AND ADOPTING A BUDGET FOR THE CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR OCTOBER 1, 1978 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 1979; PROVIDING THAT EXPENDITURES FOR SAID FISCAL YEAR SHALL BE MADE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID BUDGET; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Budget Officer of the City of The Colony, Texas, has heretofore on the 22 day of AUGUST , 19_78 , filed with the City Secretary, a proposed general budget for the City covering the fiscal year aforesaid, and WHEREAS, the governing body of the City has this date concluded its public hearing on said budget; NOW, THEREFORE: TEXAS: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, SECTION 1. That said budget be attached to this ordinance as Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof for all purposes. SECTION 2. That said budget attached hereto as Exhibit "A" be, and the same is hereby amended as follows: A. REVENUES - Court fines shall reflect revenue in the amount of $l0,600. B. FIRE DEPARTMENT - Capital expenditures shall reflect the purchase of one 6x6 Texas Forest truck in the amount of $3,500. C. RE`,'ENUES - Property tax revenues shall be increased in the amount $466.00. D. POLICE DEPARTMENT - Personnel shall be revised to include the hiring of one Juvenile Officer in the amount of $5,348. SECTION 3. That subject to the above-mentioned amendments, if any, said budget attached hereto as Exhibit "A" be, and the same is hereby approved and adopted by the City Council as the official budget for the City for the fiscal year aforesaid. SECTION 4. That expenditures during the fiscal year shall be made in accordance with the budget approved by this ordinance, unless otherwise authorized by a duly enacted ordinance of the City. SECTION 5. That the necessity for making and approving a budget for the fiscal year as required by the laws of the State of Texas, requires that this ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage, as the law in such cases provides.
