jEREAS, pursuant to the rrovisions of Article 1143 of The Revised
Civil Statutes of Texas, as amended, the terms of office of the mayor
and Aldermen of the City of The Colony, Texas shall be two (2) year
staggered terms of office.
W TIEREPAS, the Ayor and two (2) Aldermen, such Aldermen to be selected
by drawin lots at the first meetin- of the Board of Aldermen follo"jins; the
Zener_al election held on April 2, 1977 shall hold their offices for a tern
of too (2) years. Uoon d.ra%ding lots, Alderman Linda Adams and Alderman
Rick Chadwick, are appointed to serve two (2) year terms. The remaining
three (:3) Aldermen shall hold. their office for an initial tern of one (1)
year.
':T'HL2E-', at each general municipal election thereafter, the Aldermen
elected at such election: r ->hall hold their office for a tee of tiro (2)
years and until their_ successors have qualified.
