HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 20NO. 001:6 AN ORDINANCE FIXING AND LEVYING MUNICIPAL AD VALOREM TAXES FOR THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1977, AND FOR EACH YEAR THEREAFTER UNTIL OTHERWISE PROVIDED; DIRECTING THE ASSESSMENT THEREOF WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the tax for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1977, hereinafter levied for current expenses of the City and the general improve- ments of the City and its property must be levied to provide the revenue requirements of the budget for the ensuing year; and WHEREAS, all statutory and constitutional requirements concerning the levying and assessing of ad valorem taxes have been completed in due and correct time; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS: Section 1. For the current expenses of The City of The Colony, Texas, and for the general improvements of the City and its property, there is hereby levied and ordered to be assessed and collected for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1977, and for each year thereafter until it be otherwise provided and ordained, on all property situated within the Corporate Limits of The City of The Colony, Texas, and not exempt from taxation by valid law, an ad valorem tax at the rate of Fifteen Cents ($.15) on the One Hundred Dollars ($100) valuation of such property.
