AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS
PROVIDING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE MUNICIPAL
BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR OCTOBER 1, 1999 THROUGH
SEPTEMBER 30, 2000 PROVIDING A TIME AND PLACE FOR SAID
PUBLIC HEARING, TO-WIT: ON THE 16TH DAY OF AUGUST,
1999, AT 7:00 O'CLOCK P.M. AT THE COLONY CITY HALL;'
PROVIDING FOR NOTICE; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE
WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City has heretofore on or before the 15th day of July
1999, filed with the City Secretary, a General budget for the City covering the fiscal year October
1, 1999 through September 30, 2000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of The Colony, Texas finds that the City
Manager of the City has filed on or before the 15th day of July 1999, with the City Secretary, a
General Budget for the City for the fiscal year October 1, 1999 through September 30, 2000.
Section 2. That in order to provide for a Public Heating on such budget, the City Council
of the City hereby declares that said hearing shall take place on the 16th day of August 1999, at 7:00
p.m. at the City Hall, which said date is more than fifteen (15) days after the date said budget was
filed as above mentioned.
Section 3. That public notice shall be given by publication of the hour, date, and place
of such hearing in one issue of the official newspaper of the City, which said publication shall be
made not more than thirty (30) days nor less than ten (10) days before the date or said hearing.
Section 4. The necessity for holding a Public Heating on the proposed budget for the
next fiscal year as required by the laws of the State of Texas, requires that this ordinance shall take
effect immediately from and after its passage, as the law in such cases provides.
