ORDINANCE NO. ~
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS
AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES BY AMENDING CHAPTER
11 RELATING TO THE LIBRARY BOARD BY AMENDING SECTION
11-2; BY AMENDING CHAPTER 14 RELATING TO THE PARK AND
RECREATION BOARD BY AMENDING SECTION 14-2(C)(G); BY
AMENDING CHAPTER 17 RELATING TO THE PLANNING AND
ZONING COMMISSION BY AMENDING SECTION 17-2(D); AND BY
AMENDING APPENDIX A-ZONING RELATING TO THE BOARD OF
ADJUSTMENT AND APPEALS BY AMENDING SECTION 21-100;
PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That Section 11-2 of the Code of ordinances of the City of The Colony,
Texas shall be amended to read as follows:
Section 11-2 - Membership; Officers
"The Board shall select from among it's members a chairman and a vice chairman.
The ch;irman and vice chairman shall serve in that capacity for a period not to exceed two
(2) years."....
Section 2. That Section 14-2 of the Code of Ordinances shall be amended to read
as follows:
Section 14-2 (a) Membership; officers:
..."The board shall select from among its members a chairman and a vice chairman.
The chairman and vice chairman shall serve in that capacity for a period not to exceed two
(2) years. The chairman shall not serve consecutive terms."...
Section 3. That Section 17-3 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of the Colony
shall be amended to read as follows;
Section 17-3 (a) Organization
..."The board shall select from among its members a chairman and a vice chairman.
The chairman and vice chairman shall serve in that capacity for a period not to exceed two

(2) years. The chairman shall not serve consecutive terms."...
Section 4. That Section 21-100 of Appendix A-Zoning of the Code of Ordinances
shall be amended to read as follows:
...years. "The board shall select from among its members a chairman and a vice
chairman. The chairman and vice chairman shall serve in that capacity for a period not to
exceed two (2) years. The chairman shall not serve consecutive terms."... Vacancies
Section 5. That this ordinance shall be cumulative of all other ordinances of the
City affecting Advisory Boards and shall not repeal any of the provisions of said ordinances
except in those instances where provisions of those ordinances are in direct conflict with
the provisions of this ordinance.
Section 6. The fact that the present ordinances and regulations of the City of
the Colony, Texas, are inadequate to properly safeguard the health, safety, morals, peace,
and general welfare of the inhabitants of the City of The Colony, Texas, creates an
emergency for the immediate preservation of the public business, property, health, safety,
and general welfare of the public which requires that this ordinance become effective from
and after the date of its passage and it is acc~,~'di,ngly so ordained.
