ORDINANCE NO. 98-1071
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS
DESIGNATING AN AREA AS A DEVELOPMENT ZONE
LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY
Whereas, The City Council of the City of The Colony, Texas desires to create
the proper economic and social environment to induce the investment of private resources in
productive business enterprises to encourage the development o£primary employment and to attract
major investment; and
Whereas, On October 19, 1998, the City Council of the City of The Colony held
a public hearing regarding the designation the area which is the subject of this ordinance as
Development Zone to promote commercial development and expansion; and
Whereas, the City Council of the City of The Colony finds that improvements
sought to the induced in the Development Zone meet the development objectives of the City of The
Colony, Texas and would be a benefit to the land in the Development Zone and to the City of the
Colony, Texas through an Economic Development Program Agreement entered into in accordance
with the Development Corporation Act of 1979, as amended.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF THE COLONY, TEXAS:
That the area located within the city limits of The Colony, Texas, within one thousand feet
(1000') either side of the center line of the following streets: State Highway 121, Farm to Market
Road 423 (Main Street), Plano Parkway, Paige Road, North Colony Boulevard, South Colony
Boulevard, Memorial Drive and Windhaven Parkway; and being more particularly described in
Exhibit "A" attached hereto, be, and the same is hereby designated as a Development Zone for a term
of 5 years.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of The Colony, Texas on this
