MINUTES OF THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION MEETING
HELD ON MARCH 9, 2004
The Regular Session of the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of The Colony,
Texas was called to order at 6:30 p.m. on the 9th day of March, 2004 at City Hall with the
following members present:
Bill Jamme, Chairman
Deviile Hubbard
Marlene Milsak
Michael Barrett
Brian Wade
Kirk Mikulec
Bill Harrison
Staff:
Harry Persaud, Director of Development Services
Chris Spencer, Planner
James Hanvey, Staff Engineer
Sandy Vondersaar, Administrative Assistant
With seven (7) P & Z members present, a quorum was established and the following
items were addressed:
2.0 DISPOSITION OF MINUTES
2.1 Approval and/or correction of Planning and Zoning Commission Minutes for
the meeting held on January 27, 2004.
Motion to approve the minutes of the meeting held on January 27, 2004,
Commissioner Milsak; second, Commissioner Wade. Motion carried 5-0 with two
abstentions. Commissioners Barrett and Harrison were not in attendance at the
January 27th meeting.

4.0 PUBLIC HEARING

4.1 Hold a public hearing and make a recommendation regarding a Specific Use
Permit allowing for a church in the Single Family "SF" zoning district
classification, located at 4700 Nash Drive, Lot 1, Block 1 Trinity Presbyterian
Addition, in the City of The Colony, Denton County, Texas. (2004-SUP001)
Chairman Jamme opened the public hearing at 6:32 p.m.
Mr. Spencer presented the staff report regarding a Specific Usc Permit allowing for a
church in the Single Family "SF" zoning district classification at 4700 Nash Drive
located at the southeast comer of Main Street and Nash Drive.
Forty-four (44) notices were mailed to the property owners within 200 feet of the subject
tract. At meeting time, four (4) notices in favor and one (1) notice opposed had been
received. Five (5) Specific Use Permit request signs were placed on the property per City
ordinance.
Mr. Steve Thomas, representative for the Trinity Presbyterian Church, 4700 Nash Drive,
The Colony, Texas 75056 and Mr. Chris MrCray, Amhitect with Fitzpatrick Butler
Architects, 1510 South Vine Avenue, Tyler, Texas 75701 was present to answer
questions.
Chairman Jamme closed the public heating at 6:53 p.m.
Staffrecommends approval.
A motion for a recommendation regarding a Specific Use Permit allowing for a
church in the Single Family "SF" zoning district classification, located at 4700 Nash
Drive, Lot 1, Block 1 Trinity Presbyterian Addition, in the City of The Colony,
Denton County, Texas. (2004-SUP001) Commissioner Harrison; second
Commissioner Miknlee. Motion carried 7-0.
With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:55 p.m.
