ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TEE COLONY~ TEXAS
AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY BY
AMENDING CHAPTER 2; ADDING SECTION 2-15
ASSESSING ADDITIONAL COURT COSTS IN THE AMOUNT
OF FIVE DOLLARS ($5.00) FOR EACH PARKING
VIOLATION' IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARTICLE
102.0{4(b) OF THE TEXAS CODE OF CRIMINAL
PROCEDDRE; ADDING SECTION 2-16 ASSESSING AN
ADDITIONAL TWENTY DOLLARS $20.00) IN COURT
COSTS FOR EACH SCHOOL CROSSING ZONE VIOLATION
IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARTICLE 102.014(c) OF THE
TEXAS CODE OF CRIMINAL PROCEDURE; PROVIDING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF THE COLONY~ TEXAS:
Section ]. That in accordance with Article ]02.0|4(b)~
Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, there is hereby assessed an
additional Five Dollars $5.00) in Court costs on each violation
with respect to the stopping, standing or parking of vehicles cited
in Municipal Court, and that such Court cost shall be collected in
the same manner as the fine in each case is collected.
Section 2. That in accordance with Article 102.0|4(c),
Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, there is hereby assessed an
additional Twenty Dollars $20.00) in Court costs for each traffic
offense occurring within a school crossing zone and for the offense
of overtaking or passing a school bus. The additional Court cost
shall be collected in the same manner as the fine in each case is
collected.
Section 3. If any section, article paragraph, sentence~
clause, phrase or word in his ordinance, or application thereof to
any persons or circumstance is held invalid or unconstitutional by
a Court of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect
the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance; and the
City Council hereby declares it would have passed such remaining
portions of this Ordinance despite such invalidity, which remaining
portions shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall take effect from
and after its passage and it is accordingly so ordained.
