O DIN CE NO. 555
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS
PROVIDING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER
LAND USE ASSUMPTIONSI PROVIDING A TIME AND
PLACE FOR SAID PUBLIC HEARING, TO-WIT: ON TEE
7TH DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1988, AT 7:30 O~CLOCK
P.M. AT THE COLONY CITY HALLi PROVIDING FOR
NOTICEi AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of The Colony,
Texas finds that Section 3(b) of Senate Bill 336 does require a
public hearing date be established to consider land use
assumptions within the service area that will be used to develop
the capital improvements plan mandated by state legislation
relating to financing capital improvements by political
subdivisions.
Section 2. That in order to provide for a Public Hearing on
land use assumptions, the City Council of the City hereby
declares that said hearing shall take place on the 7th day of
November, 1988, at 7:30 p.m. at the City Hall.
Section 3. That public notice shall be given by publication
of the hour, date, and place of such hearing once a week for
three consecutive weeks, the first notice to appear at least 30,
but not more than 60 days before the date set for the hearing, in
one or more newspapers with general circulation in Denton County.
And, at least 30 days before the hearing, notice of the
hearing shall be sent by certified mail to any person who has
given written notice by certified or registered mail to the City
Secretary requesting notice of such hearing within two years
preceding the date of adoption of this ordinance.
Section 4. The necessity for holding a Public Hearing for
consideration of land use assumptions, as required by the Senate
Bill 336, requires that this ordinance shall take effect
immediately from and after its passage, as the law in such cases
provides.
DULY PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of
The Colony, Texas on this 12th day of September, 1988.
