SINGLE MEMBER GEOGRAPHICAL DISTRICTS; PROVIDING THAT SUCH DISTRICTS
SHALL BE CREATED TO CONTAIN AS NEARLY AS POSSIBLE A POPULATION
EQUIVALENT TO THE OTHERS ACCORDING TO THE LATEST AVAILABLE CENSUS
DATA; DESCRIBING THE ELECTION DISTRICT BOUNDARIES IN EXHIBITS "A", "B",
"C", AND "D"; PROVIDING THAT THE DISTRICT AND AT-LARGE SYSTEM DESCRIBED
IN SECTION 2.03 OF THE HOME RULE CHARTER SHALL TAKE EFFECT AT THE
NEXT REGULAR ANNUAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON APRIL 3, 1982;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the people of the City of The Colony, Texas, amended the Home
Rule Charter of the City of The Colony on April 4, 1981, to provide for the election
of four (4) members of the City Council, Places 3, 4, 5 and 6 from residents of Single
Member Geographical Districts of the City; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is required to create and describe by ordinance
election districts, NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That there are hereby created election districts for the election of four (4)
tnembers of the Council, Places 3, 4, 5 and 6. That the members of the Council to
be elected to such Places shall be residents of and elected by the qualified voters of
the geographical districts of the City described in Exhibits "A", "B", "C", and "D",
attached hereto and made a part hereof for all purposes. That such Single Member
Geographical Districts are hereby created and described in accordance with Section
2.03a of the Home Rule Charter of the City of The Colony and shall correspond to
Places 3, 4, 5 and 6 respectively.
SECTION 2.
That the Council hereby finds and determines that each of such districts contains,
as nearly as possible, a population equivalent to the others, according to the latest
available Census Data.
SECTION 3.
Places i and 2 and the Mayor shall be elected by the qualified voters of the
entire City, commonly known as At-Large.
SECTION 4.
The District and At-Large system provided for herein shall take effect with the
next regular Annual Municipal Election, to be held on April 3, 1982.
SECTION 5.
This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage as the
law in such cases provides.

BEING situated in the City of The Colony, Denton County, Texas, and being
described as follows:
BOUNDARY NO. 5 - EXHIBIT "C"
BEGINNING at the intersection of the centerline of the Texas Power & Light
Company Electric Transmission Line Easement with the Southerly corporate
limit line of the City of The Colony, said point being on the Northerly
right-of-way line of State Highway Number 121;
THENCE Westerly and Northerly along the existing Southerly and Westerly cor-
porate limit line to its intersection with the centerline of North Colony
Blvd.;
THENCE Easterly along said centerline of North Colony Blvd., to the Southwest
line of an alley between Freeman Drive and Queen Circle;
THENCE Southeasterly along said South line of said alley to the centerline of
F.M. 423;
THENCE South along said centerline of F.M. 423 to the centerline of Na'sh Drive;
THENCE East along said centerline of Nash Drive to the centerline of Blair
Oaks Road; '
THENCE North along said centerline of Blair Oaks Road to the centerline of
North Colony Blvd.;
THENCE Easterly and Northeasterly along said centerline of North'Colony Blvd.,
to the centerline of the Texas Power & Light Company Electric Transmission
Line Easement;
THENCE Southwesterly along said centerline of the Texas Power & Light Company
Electric Transmission Line Easement to the PLACE OF BEGINNING.

BEGINNING at the intersection of the centerline of the Texas Power & Light
Company Electric Transmission Line Easement with the Southerly corporate limit
line of the City of The Colony, said point being on the Northerly right-of-way
line of State Highway Number 121;
THENCE Northeasterly along said centerline of the Texas Power & Light Company
Electric Transmission Line Easement to the centerline of Slay Drive;
THENCE Southeasterly along said centerline of Slay Drive to the centerline of
Paige Road;
THENCE Northeasterly along said centerline of Paige Road to the centerline of
Ramsey Drive;
THENCE Southerly and Easterly along said centerline of Ramsey Drive to the
Centerline of King Drive;
THENCE Southwesterly along said centerlineof the Lone Star Gas Company Pipeline
Easement to a point on the Southerly corporate limit l~ne of the corporate limits
of the City of The Colony, said point being on the South right-of-way line of
State Highway Number 121;
THENCE Southwesterly along the corporate limits of the City of The Colony to

BEGINNING at the intersection of the centerline of the Lone Star Gas Company
Pipeline Easement with the Southerly corporate limits of the City of The
Colony;
THENCE Northeasterly along said centerline of the Lone Star Gas Company Pipe-
line Easement to the centerline of King Drive;
THENCE Westerly and Northerly along said centerline of King Drive to the cen-
terline of Ramsey Drive;
THENCE Southwesterly along said centerline of Ramsey Drive to the centerline
of Slay Drive;
THENCE Northwesterly along said centerline of Slay Drive to the centerline of
the Texas Power & Light Company Electric Transmission Line Easement;
THENCE Northeasterly along said centerline of the Texas Power & Light Company
Electric Transmission line Easement to the Northerly corporate limits of the
City of The Colony;
THENCE Easterly along said corporate limits of The Colony to a Northeast corner,
said point being on the Westerly right-of-way line of the St. Louis & San
Francisco Railroad;
THENCE Southerly along the corporate limits and the Westerly right-of-way line
of the St. Louis & San Francisco Railroad to a Southeast corner of the corpor-
ate limits of The Colony;
