CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES BY AMENDING SECTION 19-1 RELATING TO DEFINITIONS; AND BY PROVIDING FOR ADDITION OF SECTION 19-24, PARKING OF CERTAIN VEHICLES - PROHIBITED; PROVIDING A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS FOR EACH OF- FENSE AND A SEPARATE OFFENSE SHALL BE DEEMED COM- MITTED UPON EACH DAY DURING OR ON WHICH A VIOLATION OCCURS; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE AND PROVID- ING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS: Section 1. That Chapter 19 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of The Colony, Texas is hereby amended in the following particulars and all other existing sections, subsections, paragraphs, sentences, definitions, phrases and words of said Code are hereby ratified, verified and affirmed: A. That Section 19-1 is hereby amended to add the following definitions: "Motor vehicle: Every vehicle which ~is self propelled. Recreational vehicle: Self propelled living quarters equipped or used for sleeping and eating which may be moved from one location to another over a public street not including a camper mounted on a pickup truck or van designed to carry ten (10) or fewer passengers. Trailer: Every vehicle without motive power designed or used for carrying property or passengers wholly on its own structure and to be drawn by a motor vehicle." B. That a new section, Section 19-24 is hereby added to read as follows: "Section 19-24. Parking of Certain Vehicles - Prohibited it shall be unlawful for any person, driver, operator or owner to leave, park or stand any mobile home, motor home, recreational vehicle, trailer or boat upon any public street or alley in excess of 24 hours." Section 2. That any person, driver, operator or owner violating the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be punished in accordance with Section 1-5 of the Code of Ordinances. Section 3. If any section, article, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word in this ordinance or application thereto any person or circumstance is held invalid or unconstitutional by a Court of competent jurisdiction such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of the ordinance; and the City Council hereby declares it would have passed such remaining portions of the ordinance despite such invalidity, which remaining portions shall remain in full force and effect. Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective from and after the date of its passage and publication and it is accordingly so ordained. PASSED AND APPROVED this I~ day of ~, 1984.
