HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 306 CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS ORDINANCE N O .~.~)~ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS, REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 287 PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON JULY 23, 1984, RE- LATING TO REGULATIONS OF USE OF THE CITY'S WATER SUPPLY AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 296 PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON SEPTEMBER 10, 1984, WHICH ORDINANCE AMENDED ORDINANCE NO. 287; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, due to existing drought conditions, the City Council of the City of The Colony, Texas ("the C~ty"), passed an approved on July 23, 1984, Ordinance No. 28? providing for regulations of use of the City's water supply; and WHEREAS, with the continuing drought conditions, the City Council passed and approved on September 19, 1984, Ordinance No. 296, which amended the aforementioned Ordinance No. 28?; and WHEREAS, Ordinance Nos. 287 and 296 were passed as emergency ordinances for the preservation of the public, peace, property, health, and safety of the public; and WHEREAS, the C~ty Council finds and determines that the existing drought conditions are no longer prevalent, and that the emergency under which said ordinances were passed no longer exists; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that there is no longer a need to limit, control and ration the consumption of water in the city. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS: Section 1. All matters in the preamble are found to be true and correct and are incorporated into the body of this Ordinance as If copied m their entirety. Section 2. That Ordinance No. 287 of The Colony, Texas passed and approved by the City Council on July 23, 1984, relating to regulations of use of the City's water supply, be and is hereby repealed ~n its entirety. Section 3. That Ordinance No. 296 of the City of The Colony, Texas, passed and approved by the City Council on September 10, 1984, which Ordinance amended Ordinance No. 287, be and is hereby repealed in ~ts entirety. Section 4. That this Ordinance shall become effective from the date of its passage, and it is accordingly so ordained.
