HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 79-18 RESOLUTION 79-18 Authorizing the Mayor to proclaim October 6, 1979 as "CHILDREN'S DAY" Whereas it is important that the children of the United States be given guidance to prepare them to become active citizens and leaders of tomorrow; and Whereas adults have an obligation to establish a culture which is spirtually and intellectually conducive to the well- being of the children of the United States; and Whereas it is appropriate to recognize the important role which children play in the future of the Unites States: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT Resolved by the City Council of the City of The Colony, That the mayor is authorized and requested to issue a proclamation designating October 6, 1979, as "Children's Day" and calling upon the people of the United States (in- cluding interested groups and organizations) to observe that day with appropriate cermonies and activities.
