HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 86-01 THE CITY OF THE COLONY RESOLUTION NO. ~ {~-0] A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE FUNDING OF A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT ~/ITH TELAMON CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A PUBLIC S~/IMMING POOL FACILITY AND ALL ATTENDANT AND NECESSARY COST THERETO. IitHEREAS, the citizens of The City of The Colony voted in favor of $850,000 in Public Swimming Pool Facility Bonds at the City's most recent bond election; and II/HEREAS, the Telamon Construction Company submitted the lowest responsible bid for the construction of the Public Swimming Pool Facility, which bid was modified by Change Orders; and IItHEREAS, the City awarded a contract to Telamon Construction Company to construct the Public Swimming Pool Facility in accordance with approved plans and specifications; and · tHEREAS, the total cost of construction, including architectual tees and other professional fees is approximately $925,#97; and · /HEREAS, the City sold the Public Swimming Pool Facility Bonds, along with other City bonds, and is drawing interest on the proceeds from said sale in accordance with law; and the City is authorized under law and the Bond Ordinance that sold said Bonds, to use the earned interest for payment of the approved construction project; and, · /HEREAS, the City Council does declare that the Public Swimming Pool Facility contract awarded to Telamon Construction Company, and all other attendant and necessary costs shall be funded from the net proceeds of the sale o£ $850,000 in Public Swimming Pool Facility Bonds and on the interest heretofore and hereinafter earned on said proceeds and from no other sources. NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS: Section 1. That all of the matters stated in the preamble are found to be true and correct and are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety. Section 2. That the City Council does declare that the Public Swimming Pool Facility contract awarded to Telamon Construction Company, and all other attendant and necessary costs, shall be funded from the net proceeds of the sale of $850,000 in Public Swimming Pool Facility Bonds and the interest heretofore and hereinafter earned on said proceeds, and from no other source. Section 3. That this Resolution shall be effective from and after the date of its passage.
