HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 81-24 WHEREAS, the City Council does agree that it is in the best interest of all concerned to establish Rules of Procedure for conducting Council meetings, and WHEREAS, the Home Rule Charter does not set forth such Rules of Procedure, and WHEREAS, it is the consensus of the City Council that the appli- cation of parliamentary law is the best method yet devised to enable assem- blies of any size, with due regard for every member's opinion, to arrive at the general will on a maximum number of questions of varying complexity in a minimum time and under all kinds of conditions ranging from total harmony to hardened or impassioned division of opinion, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS: That the City Council of the City of The Colony, Texas, does hereby adopt Roberts Rules of Order, Newly Revised, Copy- right 1970 by Henry M. Robert II!, Trustee for The Robert's Rules Association.
