A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS SUPPORTING THE ADOPTION OF OPTIONAL EXTENDED AREA SERVICE AND THE CONTINUATION OF EXTENDED COMMUNITY CALLING FOR THE BENEFIT OF CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS WHEREAS, the City of The Colony has made application to the Public Utilities Commission of Texas for the provision of Extended Area Telephone Service between the City of The Colony (Frisco Exchange) and the Dallas Metroplex area pursuant to the terms and provisions of Tex. Rev.Civ. Stat.Ann., art. 1446c, sec.61(2); and WHEREAS, for the past several years the citizens of The Colony have had available to them the Extended Community Calling service, which has been very beneficial in alleviating the high costs of lost distance phone service from The Colony; and WHEREAS, it is the belief of the City Council of the City of The Colony that Extended Area Service between the Dallas Metroplex and the City of The Colony (Frisco Exchange) can be reasonably provided to the City of The Colony; and WHEREAS, this Council further believes that Extended Community Calling will remain a viable alternative to some citizens of The Colony for long distance phone service: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS: That the City of The Colony supports the adoption of optional Extended Area Service and the continuation of Extended Community Calling within the City of The Colony, Texas (Frisco Exchange).
