HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 89-21 CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS PROVIDING RESIDENTIAL SANITATION RATES; PROVIDING FOR A DEPOSIT FOR RESIDENTIAL SANITATION SERVICE; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the City of The Colony did assume responsibility for sanitation service after February 1, 1987; and WHEREAS, the City of The Colony has contracted with Texas Waste Management, a waste management company to provide residential sanitation service; and WHEREAS, this contract provides for an annual rate adjustment based on the Dallas-Fort Worth Area Consumer Price Index increase (C.P.I.); and WHEREAS, the City of The Colony is responsible to Texas Waste Management for payment of residential sanitation services provided, even for those customers who have vacated their residences without prior notification; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it necessary to provide a deposit for sanitation service; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of The Colony, Texas: Section 1. That the monthly charge for residential sanitation service rendered after December 1, 1989, will be $~6Z), and that this charge will be apportioned as follows: Texas Waste Management for Collection & Disposal $~.3~ City for Franchise Fee $/. ~ Section 2. That a deposit in the amount of $10.00 shall be assessed to all new residents applying for service on or after December 1, 1989. Section 3. That above referenced deposit shall be refundable upon termination of the service, providing there has been no delinquent activity, as provided in the Water and Sewer Code. Section 4.
