HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 00-33 ORIGINAL CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS RESOI VTION NO. _OZg A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVE FUELS PROGRAM FOR FISCAL YEARS 1999 AND 2000; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Transportation administers an Alternative Fuels Program for the purpose of convening new and existing vehicles from conventional fuels to altemative fuels; and WHEREAS, congestion mitigation and air quality improvement (CMAQ) funds have been made available to the State through the U.S. Department of Transportation for the advancement of the Alternative Fuels Program; and WHEREAS, the counties of Dallas, Tarrant, Collin and Denton were designated by the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990 as ozone nonattainment areas, thus qualifying for CMAQ funds; and WHEREAS, the City of The Colony desires to enter into an agreement with the State to establish the parties' obligations and responsibilities associated with the Alternative Fuels Program; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of The Colony 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an Interlocal Agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation, authorizing participation in the Alternative Fuels Program. 2.
