HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 04-27 CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS RESOLUTION NO. 04-~ 7 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS, DISSOLVING THE DENTON COUNTY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION NO. 5; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Denton County Development Corporation No. 5 ("DCDC") have never met or conducted any business and requested that the same be dissolved; and WHEREAS, it appears that the same has never otherwise be incorporated; and WHEREAS, the persons who requested the formation of said entity has agreed with the City of The Colony to dissolve its existence; and WHEREAS, the DCDC has reported that it does not have any assets or outstanding debts, bonds or other obligations; and WHEREAS, the DCDC has not entered into any agreements to promote economic development in accordance with its Order of the Denton County Commissioners' Court dated June 27, 2000; and WHEREAS, the boundaries of the said corporation are wholly within the City of The Colony, to wit: Wynnwood Peninsula; and WHEREAS, the DCDC no longer exist and the petitioners to the formation have agreed that said corporation should be dissolved; and WHEREAS, after consideration, the City Council of the City of The Colony has determined and finds that it is in agreement with the petitioners to abolish the Denton County Development Corporation No. 5; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS: Section 1. That City Council of the City of The Colony, Texas, and the Board of Directors of the Denton County Development Corporation No. 5 are in agreement that said Corporation should be abolished and to the extent provided by law, hereby abolish the Denton County Development Corporation No. 5. Section 2. That the City Council hereby authorizes that a copy of this resolution be filed with the County Clerk of Denton County and the records of the Denton County Commissioners' Court. 64405 Section 3. This resolution shall become effective from and after its adoption and publication as provided by law.
