HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 04-06 RESOLUTION ~ O ~ C ~ Whereas, Cause No. 2002-0008=158, County of Denton vs. Robert Harrell was filed in the District Court of Denton County, Texas to collect delinquent taxes on the following deseribed property, to wit: Lot 20, Block 8, Crarza Lake Estates, City of The Colony, Denton County, Terns being that property more particularly described in Volume 2209, Page 43 of the Deed Records, Denton County, Texas Whereas, the District Court of Denton County, Texas granted Judgment on December 5, 2002, in favor of the laxing jurisdictions of Denton County as follows: County of Denton $2,967.42 City of The Colony $6,727.05 City of Eastvale $869.66 Lowisville ISD $12,758.46 Total Due $23,184.07 Market Value $51,717.00 (According to Denton Central Appraisal District) Lot 19, Block 8, Garza Lake Estates, City of The Colony, Denton County, Texas being that property more particularly described in Volume 2209, Page 43 of the Deed Records, Denton County, Texas Whereas, the Disuict Court of Denton County, Texas granted Judgment on December 5, 2002, in favor of the taxing jurisdictions of Denton County as follows: County of Dunton $455.28 City of The Colony $1,064.19 City of Enstvale $151.15 Lewisville lSD $2,494.89 Total Due S4,164.51 Market Value $12,500.00 (According to Denton Central Appraisal District) Whereas, said parcel of land was offend for sale on December 2, 2003 by the Sheriff of Denton County at public auctiun pursuant to judgment of the DisUict Court of Dentun County, Texas, for foreclosure of the tax liens securing payment of delinquent property Whereas, said parcel of land did not receh~ a sufficient bid as set by law and was struck offto the County of Dentan, Trustee, in trust for itseff, City of The Colony, City of Eastvale and Lewisville Independent School District pursuant to Section 34.01 (c) Property Tax Code; and Wherens, the taxing units involved desire to resell said parcels of land in an expeditious manner pursuant to Section 34.05 Prope~y Tax Code. Wherefore, Be It Resolved that the City Council for the City of The Colony does hereby authorize the Trustee to solicit from the public bids on the said parcel of land or to request that the Sheriff of Denton County sell this proper~y pursuant to Section 34.05(c) Property Tax Code, and we do hereby consent to the sale of said parcel of land to the highest bidder even if the bid tendered is less than the market value of the land specified in the judgment of foreclosure or the total amount of the judgment against the property.
