A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
THE COLONY SUPPORTING PROPOSITION//15 ON THE
NOVEMBER 6, 2001 CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT
ELECTION CREATING THE TEXAS MOBILITY FUND AND
AUTHORIZING GRANTS AND LOANS OF MONEY AND
ISSUANCE OF OBLIGATIONS FOR FINANCING OF
MOBILITY PROJECTS THROUGHOUT THE STATE
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of The Colony is concerned about the lack of
sufficient funding for mobility projects within the region and entire State; and
WHEREAS, we continue to participate with transportation advocacy groups within the
region to gain support for a number of projects, several of which are backlogged or have no
designated construction date due to a lack of funding; and
WHEREAS, we support increased funding to accelerate project development and completion
of major mobility improvements, recognizing the continued economic viability and quality of life is
at stake; and
WHEREAS, we recognize additional resources must be developed to adequately fund
projects throughout Texas; and
WHEREAS, the mobility and safety needs of urban and rural areas in Texas require a major
investment, the level of which may be reached by issuance of bonds to move mobility projects to the
forefront and greater participation by TxDOT in toll road development;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF THE COLONY, TEXAS:
Section 1. Proposition #15 on the November 6, 2001 Constitutional Amendment Ballot, A
Constitutional Amendment, 'creating the Texas Mobility Fund and authorizing grants and loans
of money and issuance of obligations for financing the construction, reconstruction, acquisition,
operation, and expansion of state highways, turnpikes, toll roads, toll bridges, and other mobility
projects,' is hereby endorsed for passage.

Section 2. This recommendation shall be communicated to all members of the community; the
media, the Texas Legislative Delegation and other appointed and elected officials for consideration
and encouragement to support Proposition #15 to 'Keep Texas Moving. '
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE
COLONY, TEXAS, TO BE EFFECTIVE this 15h day of October 2001.
