LIBRARY BOARD MINUTES

The Regular Session of the Library Board of the City of The Colony, Texas, was called to order at 7:00
p.m. on the 23rd day of April 2026 at City Hall, 6800 Main Street, The Colony, Texas, with the following
roll call:

This portion of the meeting is to allow up tofive (5) minutes per speaker with a maxi 6 mum of
thirty (30) minutesfor items notposted on the current agenda. The board may not discuss these
items, but may respond withfactual data orpolicy information, orplace the item on afuture
agenda. Those wishing to speak shall submit a Request Form to the board secretary.

The Consent Agenda contains items whi k ch are routine in natur'a r will be acted upon in one
motion. Items may be removedfrom this agendafor separate discussion by a board member.
3.1 Consider approval of minutes of Library Board meeting hel•Mar 2 ,
The Board reviewed the minutes. Motion to approve the above consent agenda item — Worthen;
second by Linch; motion passed with all ayes.

A. Continue to maintain legislative awareness of pertinent library issues.

the status of Little v. Llano County and the new precedent the ruling setsfor the states in
the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court ofAppeals.
B. Continue to assist in representing TCPL at library, school, and community activities.
Director Charters will attend Parks & Recreation's Arbor Day community event
Saturday, April 25 to promote TCPL's Seed Library. I
TCPL is hosting The Colony Summer Kickoff on June 6 and participating in The Colony
Vack to School Bash on July 22.
C. Initiate contact and work to form partnerships in the community to introduce TCPL's
services and resources and to serve as an information source for the community.
Tarrant County Community Food Bank will come once a month to visit with people
coming to TCPL and answer questions about their resources and ways they can serve the
community.
'.2 Receive a presentation and discuss staff updates regarding public relations events, programs,
services and community partnerships.

4.3 Receive a presentation and discuss updates regarding Friends of The Colony Public Library
activities.
The Friends of The Colony Public Library Annual Meeting is Thursday, April 30 at 6:30 p.m. in
the Library Multipurpose Room.
