ANIMAL SERVICES AGENDA MONDAY, OCTOBER 27, 2025 6:30 PM

1.0 ROUTINE ANNOUNCEMENTS, RECOGNITIONS AND DISCUSSION
1.1 Update on intake and outcome numbers for last quarter. July 1st to 10/27/25
Intakes:
Owner Surrender: Cats 63 & Dogs 74
Strays: Cats 78 & Dogs 122
Transfer In: Cats 6 & Dogs 25
Outcomes:
Adoptions: Cats 116 & Dogs 123
Transfer Out (Rescue): Cats 4 & Dogs 32
Return To Owner: Cats 10 & Dogs 62
Euthanasia Cats 37 & Dogs 29
Cats: 22 sick, 5 aggressive, 10 owner requests
Dogs: 17 Owner Request, 2 Aggressive, 2 Severe Injuries, 8 sick/medical
**MC Rate up due to upper resp infections
*** WG: Include Current Population Totals (at start time) possibly on a spread sheet to keep track
better.
1.2 Final update on cat condos, with planned maternity ward.
MC: New Cat Condos, Bench and Custom Paw Shelves and new Maternity Ward additional
$11,000 (pulled from Friends money).
1.3 Discuss planned dog kennel expansion and facility improvements.
Approved by city for $350,000. Total of 16 large dog, 6 little dog kennels.
Volunteers (night walkers) want to raise funds for an indoor play area and potential meet &
greet area. Volunteers meet with Troy, if they raised ½ he would have the city match the
other half. Special Fund set up with Friends – Building & Maintenance Fund
WG: What are the access points. Is there only one door? Emergency Exit Door?
1.4 Announce partnerships from Trunk-or-Treat event.
MC: Great Event (first time), we had planned for 200 people, expected 50 and had around
150. Community Response was great. Clear signage for donation station next time.
Raffle brought in $1100, Items that had no bid were held over for the Lakes Lane event.
JW: Best to have a QR Code
1.5 Announce upcoming events.

The Colony, Texas to be held at 6:30 PM o n MONDAY, OCTOBER 27, 2025 at ANIMAL SHELTER,
4720 EAST LAKE HIGHLANDS DRIVE, THE COLONY, TX , at which time the
following items will be addressed:
ith a maximum of thirty (30) minutes for items not posted on the current agenda. The council may
not discuss these items, but may respond with factual data or policy information, or place the item
on a future agenda. Those wishing to speak shall submit a Request Form to the City Secretary.
