OF THE VETERANS ADVISORY COMMITTEE
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 22, 2025
The Regular Session of The Veterans Advisory Committee of the City of The Colony, Texas was
called to order at 6:02 PM on the 22nd day of January 2025 at City Hall, 6800 Main Street, The
Colony, Texas, with the following roll call:
Scott Klein, Chairman
Present Dan Rainey Council Liaison
Mary Garcia, Vice Chairman
Present Chrystie Gibbs Recording Secretary
Allen Harris, Board Member
Present Andrea Duarte Staff
Randy Dull, Board Member
Present
Bob Bourbon, Board Member
Present
And with five board members present,
a quorum was established and the following items were
addressed:
1.0 ROUTINE ANNOUNCEMENTS
1.1 Call to order
The meeting was called to order at 6: 02pm.
1.2 Pledge of Allegiance to the United States Flag
1.3 Salute to the Texas flag
1.4 General Announcements
2. o CITIZEN INPUT
None.
3.0 CONSENT AGENDA
3.1 Consider approval of minutes of the May 29, 2024 regular session
Motion to approve — Harris — Second — Dull; passes with all ayes.
4.0 REGULAR AGENDA ITEMS
4.1 Election of Officers
Klein was nominated as chairman.
Passes with all. ayes.
Garcia was nominated as vice chairman.
Passes with all ayes.
4.2 Discuss committee's plan of action moving forward
Klein discussed general mission of committee. Discussed opening communication
with neighboring city's Veterans Committees.
4.3 Discuss implementation of a Veteran's survey for residents
Announcements for survey via city website, newsletters and city social media.
Discussed survey questions. Discussed that the staff liaison will send an email
and get suggested questions which will then be compiled to present to the Mayor
at the next meeting. Members agreed that results of the survey will be shared with
the American Legion.
4.4 Discuss American Heroes participation
Tabling at the American Heroes Event.
4.5 Board to request items to be placed on a future agenda.
Request meeting for February 26`" 2025 at 6: 06pm. Request Mayor Boyer and
Jackie Kopsa in attendance to said meeting.
Confirm Mission Statement with Mayor Boyer.

With there being no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 7: 06pm.
