RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY,
TEXAS ENCOURAGING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AN ELKS LODGE IN
THE COLONY, TEXAS
WHEREAS, the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks is a nationwide organization which seeks
to preserve American traditions and family values and promotes service to humanity and the aiding of those is
distress; and
WHEREAS, the Order of Elks is an organization which does not exclude anyone because of creed, race,
sex, ethnic origin, educational attainment, vocation, material status or physical stature; and
WHEREAS, the Elks is an organization dedicated to the betterment of our society through community
involvement in a variety of projects; and
WHEREAS, a group of local citizens desires to establish a Lodge in The Colony for the purpose of
bringing individuals together to work for the betterment of the community; and
WHEREAS, The Colony City Council, always eager to encourage groups which have a proven record
of helping communities, acknowledges that the establishment of an Elks Lodge in The Colony could impact The
Colony in a positive way.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT:
Section 1. The City of The Colony encourages the positive aspects of establishment of an Elks Lodge
in The Colony, Texas, and encourages those individuals who will be working on this project to maintain and
optimize the highest ideals of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
DULY PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY,
