RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN INTERLOCAL
COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF THE
COLONY, THE CORPS OF ENGINEERS, THE U.S. COAST GUARD,
THE TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE, DENTON COUNTY AND TEN
(10) DENTON COUNTY CITIES (LISTED BELOW) FOR INCREASED
LAW ENFORCEMENT AND LAW ENFORCEMENT COOPERATION
FOR SAFETY ON COUNTY LAKES; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF THE COLONY, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the City of The Colony hereby enters into an interlocal agreement
with the following governmental entities for the purpose of providing increased law
enforcement and law enforcement cooperation for safe on county lakes:
The Corps of Engineers
The U.S. Coast Guard
Texas Parks & Wildlife
Denton County, Texas
The City of Crossroads, Texas
The City of Denton, Texas
The City of Hickory Creek, Texas
The City of Highland Village, Texas
The City of Lake Dallas, Texas
The City of Lakewood Village, Texas
The City of Lewisville, Texas
The City of Little Elm, Texas
the City of Oak Point, Texas
The City of Shady Shores, Texas
Section 2. That the Mayor of the City of The Colony, Texas is hereby authorized
and empowered to execute an Intedocal Cooperation Agreement with Denton County and
the above named government entities for the provision of increased law enforcement and
law enforcement cooperation for safety on county lakes.

Section 3. That the City Council of the City of The Colony have determined that
the best method for addressing the lake safety problem on Lake Lewisville is an agreement
establishing cooperation by way of a Task Force.
Section 4. That a true and correct copy of the Interlocal Cooperation Agreement
is attached hereto and incorporated herein.
Section 5. That this resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its
passage.
