HomeMy WebLinkAbout02/25/2008 City Council , ',"t'"[, o 'JO.' <', 'J IlJ , February 25, 2008 Special Session MINUTES OF SPECIAL SESSION OF COUNCIL HELD ON FEBRUARY 25, 2008 The Special Session of the City Council of the City of The Colony, Texas, was called to order at 7:00 p.m. on the 25th day of February 2008, at City Hall, 6800 Main Street, The Colony, Texas, with the following roll call: John Dillard Allen Harris John Marshall Joe McCourry Kirk Mikulec Perry Schrag Joel Marks Mayor Councilmember Councilmember Councilmember Councilmember Mayor Pro-tern Councilmember Present Present Present Present Absent Present Absent And with five council members present a quorum was established and the following items were addressed: Executive Session Convened at 7:02 p.m. 1. The City Council shall convene into closed executive session pursuant to Section 551.074 of the Texas Government Code to interview and deliberate the appointment, evaluation, assignment, duties of public officers, to wit: members of The Colony Economic Development Corporation. " ' Members of the city council met in executive session, along with City Manager Dale Cheatham, to discuss the membership of the Economic Development Corporation. (Councilmember Harris and Dale Cheatham left at 7:50 p.m.) At 7:50 p.m. council began the scheduled interviews. EDC Director Tom Terrall was present during the interviews. Reconvene to Open Session at 9:45 p.m. 2. City Council to interview applicants to fill vacancies on the Cultural Arts Board and the Code Enforcement Advisory Board. Council interviewed one applicant for the Code Enforcement Advisory Board. The applicant for the Cultural Arts Board was not interviewed due to not meeting the six-month residency requirement. The application will be reconsidered at a future time. 3. Council to discuss and consider making appointments to fill vacancies on the Cultural Arts Board and the Code Enforcement Advisory Board. , .'".. :--9 .'. i,.( "0" U'JUu February 25, 2008 Special Session Motion to appoint Linda Van Vranken to the Code Enforcement Advisory Board- Marshall; second by McCourry; motion passed with all ayes. 4. Any action as a result of Executive Session regarding the appointment, evaluation, assignment, duties of public officers, to wit: members of The Colony Economic Development Corporation. No action.
