MINUTES OF SPECIAL SESSION OF COUNCIL
HELD ON AUGUST 30, 2007
The Special Session of the City Council of the City of The Colony, Texas, was called to order at
7:10 p.m. on the 30th day of August 2007, at City Hall, 6800 Main Street, The Colony, Texas,
with the following roll call:

And with four council members present a quorum was established and the following items were
addressed:
1. Public Hearing to discuss the proposed 2007-2008 tax rate not to exceed 71.5 cents
per $100 valuation for the taxable value of all property real and personal, located
within the City of The Colony.
Finance Director Rebecca Koo stated this is first of two required public hearings on the
tax rate for the 2007-2008 fiscal year. She reviewed the proposed tax rate, effective tax
rate and rollback tax rate.
The public hearing was opened at 7:12 p.m. Citizen Jeff Connelly spoke in favor ofa tax
rate reduction. Public hearing closed at 7:13 p.m.
2. Announce the second of two required public hearings on the proposed 2007-2008
tax rate to be held on September 4, 2007 at 7:00 p.m.
Mayor Dillard announced the date and time of the next public hearing on the tax rate, and
Councilmember McCourry encouraged citizen attendance at the next public hearing.
And with no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned at 7: 13 p.m.
