budget year. (Scruggs)
Dale advised the council if they elect to cut the tax rate, he would recommend taking
$100,000 out ofthe new personnel salaries since the positions could not all be filled October
1 st anyway. Some council members were in favor of reducing the tax rate while others were
against it. It was decided to put this item on the September 4th regular agenda for discussion
and a vote of council.
Discussion on the facilities (police/courts, public services, and Austin Ranch fire station)
followed. The consensus among council members was to move forward with architectural
plans for police/courts building and start those renovations first. Timeline for the other two
buildings will be decided at a later time.
Councilmember Marshall suggested changing the effective date of new Parks & Recreation
fees to October 1 st rather than February 2008.
Dale asked council members to email specifics on what they would like to vote on, up or
down, at the September 4th city council meeting.
And with no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
