Tax Rate MINUTES OF SPECIAL SESSION OF COUNCIL HELD ON AUGUST 31, 2006 The Special Session ofthe City Council ofthe City of The Colony, Texas, was called to order at 7:02 p.m. on the 31st day of August 2006, at City Hall, 6800 Main Street, The Colony, Texas, with the following roll call: John Dillard Allen Harris John Marshall Joe McCourry Kirk Mikulec Perry Schrag Joel Marks Mayor Councilmember Councilmember Mayor Pro-tern Councilmember Councilmember Councilmember Present Present Present Present Present Absent Present And with six council members present a quorum was established and the following items were addressed: 1. Public Hearing to discuss the proposed 2006-2007 tax rate of 71.9 cents per $100 valuation for the taxable value of all property real and personal, located with in the City of The Colony. 2. Announce the second of two required public hearings on the proposed 2006-2007 tax rate to be held on September 5, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. Finance Director Rebecca Koo stated this is the first of two required public hearings on the tax rate. The proposed rate is 71.9 cents, with an effective tax rate of 69.498 cents, and a rollback rate of72.01l cents. The second public hearing is scheduled for September 5, 2006. The vote on the tax rate is scheduled for September 18, 2006. Mayor Dillard opened the public hearing at 7:05 p.m. Joel Marks voiced his concern to council about the possibility of projected utility revenues not being met, and questioned what would happen to the budget in that event.
